“disrupt the surface of things and uncover the different meanings beneath the layers”
Vincent’s process is physical and grounded in the building of texture incorporating paint, pigment, paper, found materials, and Venetian plaster. His work is built up slowly over time and excavated to create a random symbiosis of colour, materials, and texture. This process of both choice and chaos achieved by chiselling, sanding, and gouging creates rough and subtle images. Their build up and obliteration reveal images that announce themselves slowly whilst exploring the boundaries of abstraction.
His work is inspired and drive by a passion to disrupt the surface of things and uncover the different meanings beneath the layers.
